Phintastic
Game Event 2004
Morlon Greenwood and Jay Williams Meet
& Greet
The 2004 Phintastic Game Weekend included a "Meet & Greet" with current Dolphin players Morlon Greenwood and Jay Williams. Each guest was able to take pictures with Morlon and Jay and get autographs. Both players mingled with the guests and were generous enough to give us a very nice "Question and Answer" session. We were also joined at this event by the parents of Dolphins Guard/Tackle Greg Jerman. Every Phintastic participant received a copy of Morlon's CD "Blow The Skylines Out of Proportion" as a gift from phinatics.com.
Testimonial:
I first off want to say that the Phintastic weekend was AWESOME!! The biggest thing that I was looking forward to was the "meet and greet" with the players. It was also nice to meet the parents of Greg Jerman, who stopped by to participate and see what the event was all about.
It started off in a banquet room with food and drink for all. Chicken and steak quesadillas filled the grill along with lemonade to drink. We all sat at round tables waiting for the players to show up. The Phinatic wasn't sure Jay was going to show up (due to the hurricane) but he knew Morlon was on his way. The Phinatic had 8 x 10's, mini helmets and full size helmets from All-Star Sports for us to purchase at cost so that we could get them signed by the players if we wanted.
Suddenly, Morlon walked in. The Phinatic talked with him for a minute and then walked him over to a table in the corner of the room. We all lined up for pictures, autographs, handshakes and small chit chat. After a few minutes Jay Williams walked in. He also went to the table and started the autos and pictures. After I had all my pictures taken and items signed, my wife and I started to think it would be a good idea to have a question and answer session with both players so we mentioned it to The Phinatic. The players welcomed the idea and The Phinatic pulled up a table to the center of the room and the rest of us pulled up our chairs and starting asking questions. Morlon and Jay stood behind the table and started answering questions. They both were extremely generous with their answers and their time. They were even willing to talk candidly about the Ricky situation.
It was a fun time asking the players questions about the game they play and their personal thoughts about different things. They were very courteous, and just a couple of fun guys to be around. They also told us about their respective charities, said a few more words, ate some quesadillas, and shaked hands as they left the room. All I could say was, "Wow"! This event was the BEST OF THE WHOLE WEEKEND... and it's times like this that you truly get to know the players you root for every time they take the field!!
