The most prevalent fashion statement was a T-shirt that bore a quote from Marino on the back: "Let's overrun Canton with Dolphins fans."
"We've taken it over," Marino said shortly after he stepped to the microphone.

POPULAR T-SHIRT:@ In addition to all
the No. 13 Dolphins jerseys -- in blue or white or orange, whether

"We have taken it over," Marino said Sunday.

Sites Preview - Miami Dolphins
June 5, 2005
Contributed By: Craig Davis
Phinatics.com - A newer site (nowhere on the site does it tell you when they started) that offers news, interactive forums, team history, schedules, a fan shop, links, and a free newsletter.
Positives - Great images. The logo on the home page is fantastic with the angry dolphin in a partial uniform and old school helmet. The pictures on the "about us" page, despite being a bit distorted, are very telling and show that the writing staff has had some access to current and former players, not to mention new head coach Nick Saban and some scantily clad cheerleaders. The front page is constantly updated with news from various sources and when clicking on a news link, it opens a new window... very smart. Numerous links on the left side of the site including player events, a contest against one of the writers, interviews, free newsletter, history links, player charities, and a shop to purchase items. The links page is a great compilation of sites related to the Miami Dolphins... and it's pretty extensive...

Morlon Greenwood Sends Transplant Recipients To Dolphins Game Against The Cardinals
Miami Dolphins linebacker Morlon Greenwood donated 40 game tickets to the Dolphins' game against the Arizona Cardinals to the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center Transplant Center.
The donation was given through the Morlon Greenwood Foundation and a sponsorship from phinatics.com. The Transplant Center was able to take a group of adult and pediatric transplant recipients to the game along with a few of the children's parents.
The University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center (UM/JMMC) ranks among the top U.S. medical centers for total solid organ transplantation. The center's teams perform over 400 life-saving adult and pediatric transplants each year, which include many international patients.
The Morlon Greenwood Foundation is a non-profit organization that serves as a community resource through the development of programs and partnerships designed to assist in individual achievement and to encourage healthy lifestyles.

Web site operators get royal treatment from Dolphins
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - The invitation to spend a weekend with the Miami Dolphins left the operators of a few fan Internet sites scratching their heads. Some operators said they are used to communication from the team in the form of a cease-and-desist letter over copyright infringement.
"I thought someone was sending an April Fool's joke," said Doug, whose phinatics.com, based in Birmingham, Ala., is five years old.
Last weekend, in an NFL first, the Dolphins hosted the operators of 14 fan web sites at what they hope will become an annual Dolphins Web Weekend. The group of roughly 40, which spends hours collecting Dolphin tidbits and posting photographs, got a tour of training camp and Pro Player Stadium, was treated to a barbecue and a meeting with center Seth McKinney, autographs, a pregame field visit and seats at the preseason game against the Washington Redskins in the Hall of Champions suite.

Dolphins Play Host To Web Weekend
The Miami Dolphins played host to 14 Dolphins fan sites throughout the country and The Bahamas as part of the club's first annual Miami Dolphins Web Weekend during the weekend of August 20-21.
The weekend will be an "annual event when we bring all our web brothers in," said team President Eddie Jones.
The Web Weekend kicked off on Friday, August 20, as the group watched the team's final walk-thru prior to the game against the Redskins and were led on a tour of the team's Training Facility, including the locker room, meeting rooms and weight room. Following practice, the participants were treated to an autograph session with members of the team and were treated to a bar-b-que lunch. The group then assembled in the lobby of the team's Training Facility were they were they could pose with the team's Super Bowl trophies.
Following the photo opportunity, the participants were treated to a question and answer session with members of the Dolphins staff and players. In a session that lasted just under two hours, the group had the opportunity to meet Head Coach Dave Wannstedt, Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer Bryan Wiedmeier, Director of Pro Personnel George Paton, center Seth McKinney and Greg Solomon of NFL.com.
Also at the meeting, the group participated in a raffle for autographed footballs and other Dolphins memorabilia. In the weeks leading up to the event, the group participated in voting for the "Webbie" Awards for the best fans sites. The 2004 winners were:
Phins.com - Best Overall Fan Site
Dolfansonline.com - Best Special Features
Phinfever.com - Best Message Boards
Phinatics.com - Best Site Design
Thefinforum - Best Site Content
The winning sites received a trophy from the team.
Following the meeting, the group moved on to Pro Player Stadium for a private tour of the field, locker room and press box.
On Saturday, August 21, the group was treated to a pregame tailgate party in SportsTown where they participated in an autograph session with dozens of members of the team's alumni. The group was then escorted to the sidelines where they had an up close look at pregame warm-ups. During the game, the web weekend participants were seated in the stadium's Hall of Champions suite on the club level.

'Ultimate Sage Experience' Not on Field
A mother wanted to hire Sage to help her 15-year-old "throw and catch a football better than he can now" so he won't dread P.E.
The phinatics.com founder wanted to hire Sage to attend his football party.
A minister, calling Sage "a blessing already to this community," asked whether a summer camp appearance would require steep compensation.
A former college quarterback wondered whether Sage had much time to tutor prep passers in Maryland.
These were some of the e-mails flooding into WeissPR@aol.com on the weekend, after publicist Allison Weiss made her client available for the Ultimate Sage Rosenfels Football Experience for a "limited time only," with some proceeds going to charity...

Reality Check for Sports
How much will you care?
How much should you care?
Do the Dolphins - South Florida's most precious and favored sports commodity - matter, at the moment, as much as they usually matter? Where will winning and losing fit into the picture Sunday when the Dolphins begin the home portion of their 2001 NFL season after a week's postponement in the wake of the Sept. 11 terrorist attack on America? Will the spectacle of a game played, finally, and the simple shared experience of assembly ...
... Visits to various chat rooms where the most avid Miami fans congregate in the virtual world --- there is, for example, a phinatics.com site --- mostly featured exchanges having to do with football matters significant (defensive tackle Tim Bowens' injury and absence from the line-up) and insignificant (effects of Oakland having to wear black jersesy in South Florida heat.) Or about the NFL's plan for restructuring its playoff format...
