The Miami Dolphins Jason Taylor Calling It Quits?

Author: Shane Ford

Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald is reporting that two sources within the Miami Dolphins organization have confirmed Sunday’s game against the New York Jets will be the future Hall of Fame defensive end’s last game. The 37 year old Taylor is in his 15th year (13th with Miami) and is currently 6th on the all time sack leader list with 139.5. He would need 2.5 sacks this weekend to surpass Michael Strahan to move into the 5th spot on the list.

From 1997 to 2007 JT was a leader and a key part to a Dolphins defense. He was considered one of the most dangerous defensive ends in the NFL. When Nick Saban took over the team in 2005 the Dolphins switched from a 4-3 defense to a 4-3 and many though JT would not do well. All he did was in 2006 have his best season as a professional winning the Defensive Player of the Year award.

Welcome To The New Phinatics.com!

Today I am proud to reveal the new Phinatics.com re-design.  A very special thanks to Gerald Fanner of Phinzmania.com for the great work in bringing my ideas to reality.  He surpassed anything that I could have imagined.

The forum also got a quick re-design as well and I encourage all of you to join the forum and start communicating with other Miami Dolphins fans.

Over the course of the next several months, we will continually make changes to this main page by adding new RSS feeds from all of the Miami Dolphins sites, adding new informative pages along our menu tab, and linking this site with Finsradio.net and Phinphanatic.com.

Our goal is to make this trio of sites the go to ring of Miami Dolphins sites.  By reaching out to other Miami Dolphins webmasters in the coming months, we hope to form the largest group of sites that cover the Miami Dolphins so you never have to be without the knowledge you seek.

For now, we hope you enjoy our new look and we promise to continue our efforts to provide you with some of the best coverage of the Miami Dolphins.

This site is currently looking for staff writers to assist our new Senior writer Bert Smith who will be joining the site later this week.  Thanks again for being a part of our network of Miami Dolphins sites!

Dolphins Flirt With FA QB’s Release Nate Jones

The Miami Dolphins are flirting with free agent QB’s in the event that Chad Henne is lost for any length of time.  Henne reportedly may have separated his shoulder in Sunday’s game against the San Diego Chargers.  The injury occurred in the first quarter and Henne did not return.  It has been reported on many websites that the Dolphins contacted David Garrard and Jake Delhomme.  Both apparently turned the Dolphins down over money.

They also have worked out Trent Edwards and Brodie Croyle as well.  The team is looking more for a back-up type QB for now as they will go with Matt Moore for the immediate future, still the bye week will allow the Dolphins to explore all of their options and give Chad Henne some time to figure out his immediate future.  He is waiting on the results of a second opinion.

In other news the Miami Dolphins released CB Nate Jones a short week and a half after signing him.  Jones joins Larry Johnson and  Dontae’ Rosario as a player brought in for the very short term…yet Reshad Jones and Nolan Carroll still have lockers.
