On Tuesday, the Miami Dolphins suspended linebacker Lawrence Timmons indefinitely. The news does not come as a surprise after Timmons went missing on Saturday night. The concern for his whereabouts got to the point that the Dolphins filed a missing persons report with local police.
Police apparently found Timmons at the airport, waiting to board a flight to Pennsylvania, likely to see his daughter. It’s unknown what Timmons is going through personally, but his actions did not sit well with the Dolphins, understandably. Timmons reportedly is doing better, and wanted to rejoin the team as soon as possible. Miami, however, felt that a course of discipline was necessary, and decided to suspend Timmons indefinitely.
Indefinitely means that Timmons will be suspended up to 4 games. Shortly after announcing Timmons’ suspension, Miami made a trade with the New Orleans Saints to acquire LB Stephone Anthony. Anthony was a first round pick in 2015 out of Clemson. In exchange, the Dolphins sent their 2018 5th round pick to New Orleans. Both teams will meet each other on October 1st in London.
