With the signing of Mike Wallace headlining the NFL free agency earlier this afternoon, the Miami Dolphins made a couple more crucial signings. Among these signings include middle linebacker from the Baltimore Ravens Dannell Ellerbe, and the signing of free agent Chris Clemons who spent his first 4 years with the Dolphins.
The signing of Dannell Ellerbe came as a surprise to many football fans as it was apparent Ellerbe was going to stay in Baltimore, however the Dolphins made headlines by signing the young linebacker to a reported 5 year, $35 million contract. With the signing of Ellerbe it has been rumored the Dolphins will also release experienced linebacker Karlos Dansby, who lead the Dolphins line backing core since he came to Miami from Arizona in 2010.
Along with the signings of Ellerbe and Wallace, the Dolphins also decided to bring back the Dolphin’s strong safety Chris Clemons. Clemons is reportedly returning to the Dolphins on a 1 year contract, coming off of Clemons’ career high in tackles with 99.
Also off the Dolphins suspected market lies former Tennessee tight end Jared Cook, who reportedly agreed to a 5 year deal with the St. Louis Rams.
