With the NFL free agency period underway, the much anticipated signing of former Steelers wide receiver Mike Wallace is underway. The NFL free agency opened at 4p.m. Tuesday afternoon, and Miami wasted no time signing the star wideout.
John Clayton reported a 5 year, $65 million early into the free agency period ($13M a year). With the Dolphins wide receiving corps only totaling 3 total touchdowns last season, adding a big target for Ryan Tannehill is crucial.
Mike Wallace is a 1 time pro bowler with the Steelers, and is a young, speedy wideout who can open the field. Last season Wallace recorded 64 receptions for 836 yards and 8 touchdowns. Wallace is a 6’0″ 199 pound wide out from the University of Mississippi.
Also headlining Dolphin’s newswire includes proposed agreement of Ravens middle linebacker Dannell Ellerbe. Ellerbe was originally being recruited back to Baltimore, however the Baltimore Sun reports earlier today of this potential signing. The Dolphins are yet to comment on this signing.
