Could Dolphins Tannehill Bluff The Cards?

The Arizona Cardinals are undefeated.  Yes, you did in fact read that correctly and yes you already knew that.  Behind a stifling defense, the Cardinals have rolled over two teams while knocking off the Patriots on blind luck…I mean a missed field goal.

This week, they face the Miami Dolphins and it’s not going to be an easy game.  For the Dolphins.  In fact, the Dolphins will have to do a little bluffing on their part to keep Ryan Tannehill off his back.  It may not hurt them to get some poker news and tips to perfect that bluff.

The Cardinals will come hard at the rookie QB and despite the fact that the offensive line has played very well the last two weeks, this game matches up more like Houston than Oakland.  The Cardinals are fast on the front seven defensively and RT Jonathan Martin can expect a full bull rush every snap.

I did say that the Dolphins could be up for win didn’t I?  The truth is they could pull one out and not simply because the Cardinals could be looking ahead to the week after.   The Dolphins offensive line is key and if they can give Tannehill time and open running lanes for Daniel Thomas, Lamar Miller and Reggie Bush if he plays, the Dolphins could work some of what they learned from the poker news searching to win this game.

The reality is that Miami can’t beat the Cardinal secondary.  Not with these WR’s but they can beat their blitz packages by running soft screens and TE seams.  They have to mask, excuse me, bluff their way into making the Cardinal defense believe they are going to try and pound the ball.  They need to only beat the Cardinal blitz.

Do that, and they have a shot.

For Ryan Tannehill, this game will be a fantastic barometer on how much he has progressed from week 1.    It’s the toughest defense he has faced, they run a lot of stunts and masked formations defensively, and only two weeks ago made Tom Brady look pedestrian.

Defensively for the Dolphins the task is simpler.  Get pressure on the Cardinal QB and stop their run.  If they can do that, they keep Larry Fitzgerald and company out of the end-zone.  If they can’t do that, they better start looking up more poker news for next week.
